Anabella enjoyed having Christmas Eve breakfast at their new table.

Waffle, anyone?
After we had breakfast at home, we went to Mom and Dad's until time for our Vaught family Christmas Eve celebration. Granny was there, and she let the kids open one of their Christmas gifts from her. She's been doing this (letting grandkids open one gift Christmas Eve) ever since I was a kid. She used to make us sing for our Christmas Eve gift in front of everyone at the Christmas Eve celebration. Daniel and Anabella got off easy.

Anabella got a tea set and Daniel got a talking, walking dog that sings Christmas carols! Allie and I did our gift exchange on Christmas Eve too.
Ryan and Hayden got Lego sets. Daniel and Anabella got suitcases. Anabella got a princess one and Daniel got Sesame Street. Inside the suitcase they each had a surprise- Anabella got a princess doll and Daniel got an Elmo puzzle!
In the early afternoon, we headed out to Uncle Greg and Aunt Julie's farm for the Christmas Eve celebration. Anabella enjoyed her cousin, Payton, (the "baby" as she calls her), and she gave her lots of kisses, as if she were one of her baby dolls.
Caleb, Daniel's best cousin friend, was there too, but Daniel was a little guarded because he thought Caleb seemed to show a little too much interest in his new suitcase.
After enjoying a fun day with family and lots of good food, we headed home in the early evening. We read a few Christmas stories before tucking the babies into bed, and then Cliff and I went to the Christmas Eve service at our church. Our babysitter, Miss Melissa, spent the evening alone as Daniel and Anabella slept peacefully upstairs, with visions of sugarplums dancing in their heads....hoping that Saint Nicholas soon would be there.
