Snow Dust

All of our snow this season has amounted to approximately an inch of accumulation- and this is from 3 clipper systems, the first being the one that brought us our First Frosty.

Learning from our previous experience with these little clipper systems that quickly drop snow and then just as quickly leave us with sunshine and dry roads, we go out when it is STILL SNOWING so that we can enjoy it while it lasts.

I love how excited Anabella and Daniel get when they see it snowing- they run for the door, boots, hat and gloves in hand! No kidding.  They can't wait to get those snowsuits on (and rain boots- good thing we didn't invest in snow boots- rain boots work just fine for snow dust)!

Unfortunately, these dustings have delayed schools quite a bit- and since the dust always seems to fall on Mondays and Fridays, Daniel and Anabella missed more days of preschool than they attended in January! Teacher workdays (and MLK) fall on Mondays, too.  That's okay, though, because their excitement over the snow far surpasses any enthusiasm they have for Daytime Playtime!

Good thing we live in a cul-de-sac!
They are so used to playing in the street,
even when it snows, that's always where they head!

One of our dustings occurred on a weekend, and since Daddy was home, we decided to try out the sleds! If we can make a Frosty in a dusting, then surely we can make sledding work, too!

The purple sled was a hand-me-down from Ryan,
 and I picked up the gray one from a yard sale for a buck!
They decided who got which sled- all I knew was that we needed to have two!
 

I am sure our neighbors got quite a kick out of watching us slide through the area behind our house on our first sledding adventure in the grass!

What fun!!

Woo hoo, bring on another dusting! Bring it on!!
