After baking last year's cake at the last minute (and having it look like it was baked at the last minute), I said I would never again bake the cake for the twins' party. Never say never. But it's hard to go wrong with a Frosty cake. And, luckily, it turned out fine. With the exception of a hat (too windy, blew off), Frosty looked pretty much like Frosty.
As annoyed as I had become at Frosty, turns out leaving up the friendly fellows did pay off, as not only did I not have to decorate much for the party, the food preparation was simple too! I made chicken tortilla soup in the crockpot and served it with roasted garlic bread from our friendly Frosty the Costco bakery. The Frosty cheese ball practically made itself, as did the snow covered pretzels and strawberries.
We just had to add a few balloons and a birthday banner, and we were ready for a birthday party!
As soon as everyone arrived, we ate a quick lunch. Anabella, Daniel and Caleb ate at their own table, while everyone else gathered around where they could.
Daniel was tired and just generally not himself. He spent most of the day (until he turned in early) in Mommy's arms.
Because Daniel was only interested in being held by Mommy, Anabella didn't get so much as a minute to herself, as everyone was lined up waiting to hold her!

While everyone was distracted by Frosty's hat, Anabella decided to make a break for it up the stairs!Only, she didn't make it far before her Aunt Allie lured her to the living room to open presents!
Anabella had a blast opening presents and playing "Mommy" for the crowd gathered in the living room. She got five new babies! Five! One baby drinks and has diapers (Baby Alive). Two babies are twins (like Daniel and Anabella!). Another baby is a Cabbage Patch baby like Mommy used to have (complete with birth certificate!). And the fifth baby cries until you put the pacifier in her mouth (A Crying Baby!). Five babies! Can you imagine taking care of 5 babies at a time?!
Well, leave it to Anabella. She knows how. She took care of each one as if she were her one and only. Fortunately for her, and the babies, Maw got her a set of blankets and a crib. And, Granny got her a highchair. She was well equipped, and apparently knew just what to do with five babies.
Besides the five babies, Anabella also got fun books, some Play-Doh and a new puzzle. Daniel got lots of locomotives- a dump truck, a Little People truck that holds cars, a Craftsman tractor trailor with a set of tools, and a Tonka truck track & construction quarry. He also got some books, a Sesame Street house with Elmo and Cookie Monster (which are his favorite characters), some Play-doh and puzzles. They loved them all! (and play with them every day!!)
After opening gifts, it was time for cake.

The kids seemed to enjoy decorating their own cupcakes.
And, by the time everyone had departed, Frosty returned (in spirit)!
