In 2010 Hayden turned 4 years old. It was the first birthday party Daniel and Anabella had ever attended (they were 7 months old), and they had their first taste of icing! Last year at Hayden's party, Daniel and Anabella took their first carousel ride (it was one of my first posts after starting this blog). This year at Hayden's party, Anabella and Daniel took their first (independent) swings at a piñata.
They took their swings at the pinata as if they've been doing it for years, and then quickly began filling their bags with candy!
Well, Anabella filled her bag. Daniel took two piece of candy- a "match" - he found a "match" in all that candy! Go, Daniel! He found two green jolly rancher sticks (one for each hand) and was satisfied. Meanwhile, Anabella wasn't finished until every last piece of candy had been "cleaned up."
Daniel preferred cheese balls to candy...here he is digging into his cup of cheese balls that his Aunt Allie fixed for him.
Here's Ryan playing football. This park is in Strasburg, nestled in the Shenandoah Valley, surrounded by mountains and the prettiest views. Growing up in Front Royal, I never appreciated the views as much as I do now that I'm older (and living in a suburb).
Daniel is pointing to the railroad tracks and saying, "like Busch Gardens, like Busch Gardens."
Anabella has fun kicking a soccer ball....could this be a glimpse into the future? (not if she takes after her mother!)
Daniela and Anabella were happy to sit on Dee's lap and eat more cheeseballs. The first time they had a Cheeto was when their Aunt Allie gave them some when they were little over a year old. Ever since, they associate cheese balls and any other kind of Cheetos to Allie. She obliges and always has cheese balls ready for them whenever she gets the opportunity!
Happy Birthday, Hayden!! We can hardly believe you are 6 years old!!
