Disney part 3: Magic Kingdom

It was about 6:30 pm by the time we got to the Magic Kingdom, but we were still going strong!!

Had to stop for the obligatory pictures by the Disney photographers.

This was probably our best family picture.

Now for the real fun.....(after getting a stroller, which we'd rented at Hollywood Studios and was good for all day).....

First stop:

"it's a small world"
The line went pretty quickly; it said 30 minutes but it didn't seem that long.

These cuties wanted to ride beside one another for this ride. So we sat behind them.

There's something so nostalgic about this ride for me. It's definitely one of my favorites at Disney. Unfortunately, some of my other favorites (Seven Dwarfs Mine Train & Big Country Mountain Railroad) had too long lines. So did Peter Pan's Flight- 110 minutes! Craziness. Country Bear Jamboree is another must see for me, but we skipped that this trip since we'd seen it last time, just not enough time.

Our next stop was Tomorrowland where Daniel made his lightsaber. Belle picked a pair of light-up Minnie ears. 

Another stop for goodies....this time we all got ice cream except for Daniel who just wanted a soda. He's not much on ice cream, especially soft serve. He prefers sherbet or a soda float. With sherbet. The kind you can only get at Granny's, not DisneyWorld. Come on, Disney! ha! 

He was too busy knocking people out with his lightsaber anyway. One way to encourage people to keep their distance; give DC a lightsaber. 

Since there was no line, we took a little ride aboard the people mover.

A piece of Dan's lightsaber somehow fell off while on the people mover (or on the way there), so we had to stop back by Mickey's Star Traders and fortunately they let us replace the part. 

9PM fireworks! 

I thought Dan would really like this, so towards the end of the fireworks show, we hightailed it over to Adventureand and literally walked right onto the Pirates of the Carribbean. 

Next, we waited only 15 minutes or so for the The Magic Carpets of Aladdin. Best time to ride at Disney- 9-10pm at night! 

Can you believe we were still going strong at 10pm when we headed back towards the castle for the electrical lights parade. 

Wow! What an amazingly zippity doo da fun day!!

Unlike last year, our day at Disney was a definite highlight of our trip this year. I think our plan to skip around to the various parks helped us fit a lot into our one day, and we didn't spend it with anyone getting cranky due to long lines. I still want to go to Disneyworld again when it's not spring break because there's SO much more to see, but we fit a lot in this day and really had a wonderful time.

Not enough room for Belle too though, so I had to walk.
Boo. 

I need to look back in my journal to know for sure what time we arrived back to the timeshare that night, but I want to say it was close to time for our carriage to turn back to a pumpkin. Oh my. Our longest day yet; close to 17 hours!! Our timeshare was only a few miles from Disney but it took forever and a year just to get back to the van (EVERYONE leaves the park after the 10pm electrical parade). The park was open until midnight and if we all weren't 100% pooped, we should have just stayed for a few more rides (instead of spending the time waiting for the monorail like the other 100,000 people.)    

Our zippity doo das turned to moans and groans at this point in the night, but so did everyone else's. Small price to pay for a memory packed day!!
