Caleb's Birthday Party

Growing up, I was the only child on both sides of the family until my cousin Willie was born in 1978. Then, my cousin Lindsay came along in 1984, on May 3rd, just before my sister, Allison, a few weeks later, May 29, 1984.  After that, I seemed to get a new cousin every year! On my Mom's side of the family (the Vaughts), I am the oldest of 10 grandchildren. Daniel and Anabella are among 7 great-grandchildren.


So, not only did Daniel and Anabella get lucky to have one another as siblings from the very beginning, but they were born into a family with a slew of cousins from the very beginning! Ryan, 9, and Hayden, 5, are their first cousins. Caleb, whose birthday party we attended last Saturday, is my cousin Lindsay's son.


Below is their first picture together taken at the Burke townhouse in June 2010. The twins are 4 months old and Caleb is 2 months, though you'd think they were all the same age by the looks of them! (Thanks, Lindsay, for letting me "borrow" these pictures from your blog.)

Granny's house in December 2010:

My mom has three brothers, and all four of them were born within a year or two of each other.
Four toddlers under age 5 at one time- can you imagine?!  
No wonder Granny is so good under pressure!!

The theme was Clifford's Birthday Party, so there were dog biscuits (a.k.a. peanut butter and jelly sandwiches) and dog food (a.k.a. Chex mix) among many other tasty treats.  Anabella's favorite was the juice box! Can you tell?
