I must say it was mighty strange waking up at a Comfort Inn on Easter Sunday and not going to church and having our traditional Easter egg hunt with all the family out at Granny's like we usually do on Easter.
Instead, we read the kids the Story of Easter and reviewed our resurrection eggs while we drove those last six hours home.

We got to Granny's about 5pm, but everyone had left except Mom. We ate a few turkey sandwiches, the kids opened their Easter goodies and then we reunited with Solomon, who had enjoyed the last ten days with Maw and Dee.
Judging from the pictures we received, he enjoyed his vacation as much as we did. Hamburgers and steak for meals in place of the dull dry food he got at home. I sent them the picture below the next day commenting that he was so depressed he couldn't get out of bed....waking to find nothing but dry food again in his bowl.

When we got home, the kids were excited to see that the Easter bunny had made his stop even though we weren't there.

| Some candy, a paint by number, new toothbrush and toothpaste (to make up for the candy), tissues, Hello Kitty & Spiderman hand soap (they were excited over this, too- they take their hygiene very seriously, what can I say?), two outfits, and a few other "goodies" made up the baskets this year. |
