Early Christmas

The Credles came up the weekend before Christmas so that they could see the kids in their Christmas performance and to celebrate an Early Christmas.

They arrived on Friday after naps. Daniel and Anabella both love to bake, as PaPa remembered from last year when they helped him bake cookies at their house Thanksgiving weekend. So, he brought along some pre-made batter, and they rolled up their sleeves and got down to business!

Anabella and Daniel had already done quite a bit of baking with Mommy, so they knew just what to do.  They washed their hands, and before I had a chance to even mention it, Daniel had opened the drawer and pulled out the aprons! 

They each grabbed their chairs, rolled up those sleeves (Daniel rolled his up; Anabella was wearing a sleeveless dress as it was a balmy 70 that day- MaMa & PaPa weren't in Florida yet, but they brought the weather with them!).

The best part- taste testing! 

On his second one....he approved!

The next day was Saturday, and we had the Christmas program at school. But, we had to open a few presents first!

Anabella was excited about her paper doll set.

And, Dan couldn't wait to try his new Buzz Lightyear ship in the bathtub.
They needed baths anyway, so to the tub they went!

The program was at 11am, and since we got up early; even with baths, we still had time for some more opening. 

Nutcrackers of their very own!
MaMa and PaPa remembered how much fun they had playing with their nutcrackers when they visited their house in November, so they got them their own.

Splash toys for the bathtub!

Following the program and naps, we finished opening gifts.

Their ornaments were inside these tins, which were hard to open, but Daniel sure tried.

Play huts- fun!

While I didn't get a picture of him opening it, Daniel was super excited for this Hot Wheels track as he exclaimed, "Just what I wanted!" as he opened it.

Anabella was excited to try her Play-doh ice cream maker.

They've both been really into puzzles lately, so they were happy to get some new ones. Belle got Sophia the First and Dan got Jake & the Neverland Pirates.

While Dan was on the mend, Belle's cold (which was diagnosed as bronchitis two days later though I'm not so sure it wasn't croup since it didn't respond to the antibiotic and came on so suddenly) was only beginning.  She was hot in the house and headed outside for some fresh air, only it wasn't any cooler outside!

Poor PaPa....

While it was 80 degrees in the house that night, Belle and Dan wanted to be sure PaPa was extra warm and cozy as they took good care of him after having wrestled him to the floor just before.  

The Credles left on the 23rd and will return again on the 30th for another few days until they leave for Florida on January 1st.
