By Thursday morning, the boat was up and running, and we took it straight to the marina so we could feed the fish, one of our favorite Gaston traditions.
| Good thing we were there to feed them- see how hungry they look?! |
| These two guys were two peas in a pod, I tell ya. |
| Dad was trying to get the geese to eat from his hand. |
| I think was the first year Dan didn't fall asleep on the boat. |
| Blowing us kisses.... |
| Goat Island!!! Do you see the goat?! We didn't see many, but there were a few wandering around. |
Friday was bittersweet because we were planning to leave that afternoon. But that didn't stop us from having our good ol' Gaston breakfast followed by a fun boat ride to the marina where, you guessed it, we fed the fish! We also had to get ice cream, even though it was only late morning. Getting ice cream at the marina is another one of our Gaston traditions.
| Here's the sand mound I mentioned in my earlier post. The man had already started spreading it at this point, but you can imagine how much fun they had playing on it. |
| These two were best buds all week. |
Will someone teach this girl some manners?! Either that....or get her another cup! heeheee, that's my girl! She loves her chocolate. |
| Dan was the only one to get a snow cone. All the others had finished their ice cream by the time the guy made his snow cone. That's why all the pictures are of him. |
| I think it was worth the wait.... |
| Look what I found on my phone on the way home: selfies of two cute girls!! |
| They took a picture of Dan too. |
We've made so many great memories over the years at Lake Gaston and are so very grateful to my Uncle Greg and Aunt Julie for sharing their vacation home with us. We always tease that we think we enjoy it as much, if not more, as they do.
