Baby Chicks and the Chicken Wagon

On one of our Tuesday Front Royal trips in May, Lindsay invited us over to her mom's to meet her new baby chicks.

These were the ones we handled. She had about six that were a little older in another crate, and a few others in another box that were even younger so she moved those out of the way of little hands. She had 28 total, I believe.

Dan was so sweet petting them. I loved watching his sweet little expressions.

When Aunt Sharon mentioned going for a ride in the chicken wagon, these two girls hopped right in!

Some hens, a rooster and a goat. Aunt Sharon has her own little mini farm!

She gave them all cups which she filled with feed to give to the animals.

Everyone was ready to feed except for Reid who didn't want to leave the "chicken wagon!"

Silly kids!

Aunt Sharon put some eggs in there so they could find them.

Dan got a surprise when he opened that door!

Reid found one, too!

Here's some short video clips of Aunt Sharon in her chicken wagon. She wasn't too wild as she had a request from a certain someone (any guesses) that she "go slow, please." ha! We all rode it on the first time, and man, when she went flying down that hill, I have to say I was a little scared myself. But it wan't me who asked her to go slower. You know who it was, right?! The little girl who likes slow, predictable rides.

The boys had fun riding in Caleb's car.

You know Granny had to get her hands on one.
Said she hadn't held a baby chick she was a little girl herself.

This is the girl who asked Aunt Sharon to slow down.
Look at her soaking her feet!

It was soooo hot and humid that day. Can you tell?
Look at that red face and sweaty curls.

What a fun afternoon. THanks, Lindsay, for inviting us and to Aunt Sharon for hosting us for the farm fun! Anabella and Daniel still talk about it. The chicks, the rides and the lemonade (which is better than mine they like to tell me).
